No, the rampant “isms” at play in OWS aren’t affecting the movement’s core agenda, but it is making people who would otherwise want to participate in the movement and add to its strength feel like they can’t, because it is not a safe space for them.
#they’d be 10 times stronger if people stopped acting like spoiled little shits
Yup. Except replace ‘people’ with ‘White men’, because that’s really the biggest problem. They don’t seem to get that changing one White Male Institution with another has never been a major boon for non-Whites and/or non-males.
The key factor at play in the entire financial crisis is the inexplicable entitlement people in power have. What you’ve got with the OWS is a lot of different kinds of people, but sadly the loudest (always) voices belong to those who feel equally entitled, except that they don’t actually have what they feel entitled to. Give it to them, and they’ll remain shits to everyone else. So it has always been, so it will always be.
The White Man is not the answer; the White Man does not have an answer; the White Man cannot even comprehend the question.
good luck running any protest in the united states ever without the participation of white men then
don’t let the door that nobody held for you hit you on the way out sweetie
